Kaiser Permanente's Geary location in San Francisco said in a statement that they are now offering drive-thru COVID-19 testing. The hospital is hoping to limit exposure to the virus in its medical center. Kaiser hopes to expand the service in the next week or so. Right now you have to make an appointment to get tested and the test has to be ordered by a doctor.
After evaluation, patients who meet criteria will head to a special testing site where medical staff in protective gear will get swabs for COVID-19, flu, and respiratory virus (RSV) all while the patient waits in their car.
