Weekend Events In The Bay Area

Watch dozens of contestants at Bring Your Own Big Wheel (BYOBW) risk humiliation and possible injury racing their big wheels (those giant plastic tricycles from when we were kids –no rubber wheels allowed) down the crazy curvy Vermont & 20th streets – the actual curviest street in SF – on Easter Sunday, all for glory.

Kids only: 3-4 pm, Adults: 4-6 pm. FREE to watch but Registration required to race. The event is FREE but they donations are requested to cover event permit costs.

Ghirardelli Square hosts a free 2019 Easter Festival with tons of activities for kids of all ages. Saturday, April 20th from noon - 4 pm.

Hop on over to Emeryville for the annual Spring Carnival with fun and games for children of all ages from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday, April 20, 2019. ECCL Field & Gym. Info on blog.

Once again The Easter Bunny will be hopping into Sausalito for an egg-citing time. He will be leading the Easter Parade which he hopes you will be a part of. The parade will begin at 10 am sharp along Caledonia Street. Line-up at 9:45 am at the Johnsons Street Fire Station, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt at Robin Sweeney Park with live music.

The 28th Annual Union Street Spring Celebration and Easter Parade celebrates and showcases the diverse community of San Francisco and features some of Union Street’s best restaurants serving attendees in an outdoor bistro setting. The event is not your average street fair or formal parade. It can best be described as wonderful, wacky, elegant and fabulous. It’s a special event for the entire family. There will be plenty of children’s activities such as photos with the Easter Bunny, pony rides, a petting zoo, Mrs. Rabbit’s Fantasy Hat Garden, and a Faerie Garden. The Faerie Garden will feature delightful faeries creating balloon animals, passing out glitter tattoos, and other interactive arts and crafts activities.

On April 20th, join the world’s most bizarre Easter egg hunt. 5,000 eggs and 13 golden surprise eggs will be hidden in the Winchester Mystery House‘s Victorian Garden. Festivities start at 10 am, with the hunt starting at 10:30 am. Let the kids get their wiggles out in the bouncy house, get a glitter tattoo and grab some sweets and treats. Get the whole family together for a photo at the Easter photo booth. Special guest Mr.Jelly Bellywill be in attendance with free samples.

420 at Hippie Hill at Golden Gate Park is a well known San Francisco tradition, bringing tens of thousands of people from all over to Sharon Meadow to celebrate the right to use cannabis. Starts at 9am.

The Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival, said to be the second largest festival outside of Washington, D.C., celebrates the blooming of cherry blossoms at one of three remaining Japantowns in the United States. 11am-6pm.
