Wellness Shot: What Is Intermittent Fasting??

Every morning at 6:40 I like to share some health information that I call your 'Wellness Shot.'

This morning I wanted to talk about a weight loss technique called 'Intermittent Fasting' because our morning show producer Karena Velazquez has been doing it for a few weeks and has lost 10 pounds.

According to an expert in the field, Dr. Eric Berg, Intermittent Fasting is going for several hours without eating. It triggers the main fat burning hormone and forces your body to use up your stored fat. Some doctors call it 'time restricted eating,' like Karena is eating within an 8 hour window. The other 16 hours are spent fasting. In the times you are NOT eating you can have; black coffee, herbal tea, water or sparkling water without calories. When you DO eat you should make it healthy stuff but I did see online that it's less about WHAT you eat but WHEN you eat.

The claims/benefits to IF includes; shedding fat, more energy, improving heart health, reducing inflammation, and sleeping better! Karena found these videos from Dr. Berg to be very helpful, clear, and easy to understand. She shared these videos below with me so now I am sharing them with you.

Way to go Karena!
