David Bowie's Space Oddity Gets 50th Anniversary Release

Fifty years ago this summer, man first walked on the moon. Just days before the launch of Apollo 11, David Bowie released "Space Oddity".

To mark the historic anniversary, a new mix of the song will be pressed as part of a double 7-inch disc set to hit stores on July 12.

Inside the packaging comes a double-sided poster reprint of the original advertisement for the single, plus a photo of Bowie taken on stage later that year and information card.

The second disc will feature the 1969 version of the track taken from the master tape, along with "Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud" on the B-side.
