It’s fun to see celebrities share their health tips and this one from Miley Cyrus stood out to me since we’ll be dancing all night long to 80s music Saturday night August 10thon my Totally Awesome 80s Cruise.
Miley posted of video of herself twerking (is that really a word??) in her home gym, and someone commented they weren’t sure if Miley was “good at twerking.” Miley herself jumped in and said,
“Literally doesn’t matter! Dancing health benefits: improved condition of your heart and lungs. increased muscular strength, endurance and motor fitness. increased aerobic fitness. improved muscle tone and strength. stronger bones and reduced risk of osteoporosis. better coordination, agility and flexibility. YASS PLEASE.”
Miley is completely right about the physical health benefits dancing provides, and I want to add the mental health benefits.
Dancing helps with feelings of depression, plus synchronizing your movements with those of people around you is scientifically proven to be bonding.
