Wellness Shot: How To Deal With Traumatic Events

I found this great article from FEMA about dealing with traumatic events. Here's some tips to help you and your family:

  1. It's natural to feel sadness, anxious, anger, and grief. These are normal reactions to an abnormal event. Acknowledging these feelings will help you recover.
  2. Talk to others about your feelings. Check in with each other.
  3. If you have little kids, they can also feel these sad feelings. Talk to your kids and give them reassurance. Hug your kids and encourage them to talk about their feelings. Be aware of their exposure to the media.
