Phil Collins Recalls Playing Drums For Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin may have officially called it quits following the death of drummer John Bonham, but they have come together on a few rare occasions.

One of those reunions was in 1985 at Live Aid. In need of someone to sit behind the kit, the band enlisted Phil Collins.

The performance wasn't exactly one people remember fondly; Jimmy Page's guitar was out of tune, Robert Plant's voice wasn't perfect, and Collins didn't rehearse for the show.

Speaking to Classic Rock Magazine, the Genesis singer recalled his arrival at the festival, admitting Page was angry at the lack of practice. Collins also said he felt like his role wasn't necessary since there was already a co-drummer.
