The One Thing You Can Do To Help Your Mental Health

If all the world’s uncertainty is taking a toll on your mental health, this is the time to try yoga! It’s free and all the equipment you need is right with you, all you need is your body! A recent study demonstrated yoga improves mental health, even reduces symptoms of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. Partially because physical inactivity is in itself associated with higher levels of depressive symptoms. You can find a link to the study in my tweet below.

There’s an awesome yoga resource on YouTube, Yoga with Adriene. Adriene is delightful and presents yoga in an easy-to-absorb manner, always making you feel secure in whatever level you’re at. The two sessions I’m sharing with you are gentle and easy for yoga starters. Getting the hang of yoga in the privacy of your “om sweet om” is an ideal way to get to know the rhythm and movement style of yoga, without that awkward feeling of learning around all the yogis from your neighborhood who seem to have no trouble with that one-legged downward dog while you’re still attempting to master the pose where you lie on your back like a corpse! Whichever one routine you choose, please let me know how you like it!

Check out this 10- minute Yoga with Adriene for neck, shoulders and upper back!
