CDC Releases Guidelines For Halloween This Year

Halloween is going to look different this year but there are some things you can do that will be familiar and keep you and your kids in touch with the fun of Halloween!

The CDC has put trick or treating, where treats are handed to children who go door to door, in the highest risk category of Halloween activities. Carving a pumpkin in your kitchen or doing a virtual Halloween costume contest are activities in the lowest risk category

But in the medium category, we find maybe a happy “medium,” outings that will instantly connect you and your family with the fall feeling of Halloween:

  • Visiting pumpkin patches or orchards where people use hand sanitizer before touching pumpkins or picking apples, wearing masks is encouraged or enforced, and people are able to maintain social distancing

One week from today Spina Farms Pumpkin Patch will open in San Jose, with a hayride and pumpkin games, and COVID 19 safety precautions will be enforced. Extra treat- it’s free!

You can find a list of pumpkin patches all throughout the Bay area below, plus I’ve included a link to CDC’s Halloween recommendations. What will you be doing for Halloween this year??
