The death of Eddie Van Halen doesn't necessarily mean fans won't hear new music from the guitar legend in the future.
Before he died of throat cancer earlier this month, Van Halen revealed he had "close to a million CDs, cassettes and boxes and boxes" of unreleased songs. The tracks include everything from rock to classical songs, he told Rolling Stone in 2008. "This stuff is gonna come out," he said at the time. "Hopefully people will enjoy the many sides of me. I trip on it myself."
Although Van Halen manager Irving Azoff says "millions" may have been an exaggeration, he adds the late guitarist's brother Alex and son Wolfgang plan to go through the material soon. "I can’t predict that for sure there will be anything new," Azoff says, "but for sure they’re going to look at it."
