Exercising one side of your body helps out the other side even if you don’t exercise it!
If you have a kid who recently fell off their skateboard or you fell off your mountain bike and you have your arm in a cast, a study showed exercising your good arm can increase strength and decrease muscle atrophy in your immobilized arm.
Exercising one side’s limb had a cross transfer effect on the other! Scientists are looking at this as far what it could mean for physical therapy or all kinds of rehabilitation like stroke rehabilitation.
