Do this one simple thing to help make sure your fire extinguisher is ready if you need it!
- One of the most important things you can do with your fire extinguisher is to make sure it is properly charged. How do you do this? Check the gauge! It’s right there on your fire extinguisher. If the dial of the pressure gauge is in the green section, that means it’s properly charged. It needs to be charged to propel the extinguisher material out of the tank, and onto the fire to put it out
- If the dial is in the red zone check if your extinguisher is disposable or rechargeable.
- If you have a disposable fire extinguisher showing the gauge anywhere in the red zone, that extinguisher needs to be replaced. If it’s a rechargeable extinguisher, you can take it to a local fire extinguisher service business to be recharged.
