Ways To Protect Your Childs Teeth From Easter Candy

If your kids eat a ton of jelly beans at their Easter egg hunt, what’s the best thing you can do to maintain the health of their teeth? Rinse as soon as possible.

1.You can use mouthwash if available but if not water is good too. The idea is to rinse away any sugar and sticky residue left on their teeth

2.Offer them sugar-free gum to chew. This increases the saliva in your child’s mouth which will help rinse away that sugar

You might be saying, why don’t I just brush their teeth?

The sugar creates acid which combines with bacteria and makes your tooth enamel soft and vulnerable to damage. Brushing would be like scrubbing your nails with wet nail polish on them. Their enamel will harden back up after an hour or so at which point you can brush. In the meantime, to get rid of that sugar use one of the rinsing methods.

Have fun, say hi to the Easter Bunny for me, and remember to rinse to help your teeth!
