Bret Michaels Wanted Slash In Poison Over C.C. DeVille

It's hard to imagine Poison without C.C. DeVille, but things could have been different if Bret Michaels originally had his way.

In the book, Nothin' but a Good Time, Michaels and drummer Rikki Rockett mention that Guns 'N' Roses' Slash could have taken the role of guitarist after the departure of Matt Smith.

Michaels wanted Slash, but said, "But Bobby and Rikki saw it with C.C. It was one of our first arguments in the band."

Of course, DeVille would eventually be hired and be partially responsible for Poison's first top ten hits, "Talk Dirty to Me."
