How to stay safe if you’re trapped by a wildfire in your car!
ReadyForWildfire.org says:
- Park your car in an area clear of vegetation.
- Close all vehicle windows and vents.
- Cover yourself with a wool blanket or jacket, nothing synthetic
- Lie on the vehicle floor.
The Washington Post adds “You don’t want to open the door and get out and panic at the very last minute as the fire is approaching, because you’re not going to be able to outrun a fire,”
