A lot of Van Halen fans weren't happy when Eddie's son Wolfgang was brought in to replace Michael Anthony in 2007. But it might have been what kept the band together for so many years.
Wolfgang's mom, actress Valerie Bertinelli, says there wouldn't even have been a Van Halen without Wolfgang - and that fans got "three extra tours" because of him.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Wolfgang says his uncle Pat - who worked on that 2007 tour - says Wolfgang was "the only person who could actually get through" to Eddie and eventually convinced him to go to rehab and give up alcohol.
Wolfgang is following in his father's footsteps with his debut solo album, Mammoth WVH, due out June 11th.
