Ways To Protect Your Hearing When Watching Fireworks

Taking your kids to see fireworks this weekend? Remember to protect their hearing with these tips!

While its super exciting fireworks displays are back, it’s important to remember they are loud enough to cause hearing damage, and audiologists say it happens every year. Hearing loss is irreversible, so you want to avoid it especially for your kids. The best way to protect your ears is to enjoy fireworks from a distance so you can SEE them but not hear the deafening boom. If you’re going to be closer to where they’re being blasted off from, protect your kids’ ears with hearing protectors like earplugs or earmuffs.

If you’re an adult with hearing aids, take them out if you’re close to the fireworks!

If you could take the noise away from the fireworks, would they be as fun for you?
