Scam Alert! The Better Business Bureau says there are travel scams happening right now. Here’s how you protect yourself so you can be walking on sunshine without worrying that someone has been f-f-f-foolin you!*
- If you get a phone call late at night from someone saying they work at the front desk of the hotel that you have made a reservation at, and they say oh there’s a problem with your card and they ask you to re-verify your credit card information- do not fall for it. That is most likely a scam
- If you book your airfare hotel for other travel through a third-party website heads up if you get a call from the company asking again to verify your name address banking information or any other personal details that are a scam a legitimate broker would never do that
- Never pay for anything by wiring money or using a prepaid debit card that’s the same as sending cash there is no way to get that back when you pay with a credit card the charges can be disputed and you’re way more protected from fraud
