Heads up taxpayers in California! If you’ve been stressing about the April 18 federal tax deadline, the IRS extended the deadline to October 16 for the areas in California affected by severe winter storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides.
This extension includes Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Benito, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, and Yolo counties. Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and even San Diego counties are included as well.
If you didn’t see your county listed, check the complete list at IRS.gov and click 2023 on the Tax Relief in Disaster Situations page. Here’s a link to the California info!
The state tax deadline for storm-affected areas in California got a one-month extension, the deadline is now May 15.
