Mark Rober is youtuber with a background in engineering who is a fan of design. Rober recently spent some time at an amusement park where he collected data on the games and how they are skewed to lower your chances of winning. One example is the three point shot. A Three point shot is usually thrown 24 feet away up at a ten foot rim. At the park Rober visited the rim is set at 11 feet and you are meant to step back 28 feet. A lot of the carnival games force you to adjust your body in ways that your muscle memory is not used to. His advice is to avoid the games with the largest prizes and that the ladder climb is a total scam.
