Beastie Boys were originally going to include a Beatles cover on their 1986 debut album, License to Ill. They had recorded their own version of “I’m Down,” which is the B-side to “Help!” but at the last minute they had to delete the track when Michael Jackson, who owned the publishing rights to the Beatles catalog declined to let them release it.
