The treatment is a specially prepared peanut powder that patients take daily in tiny amounts. The dosage gradually increases over the following months. For now it is solely for children and teens. The powder helps their young bodies to better tolerate peanuts so that an accidental bite is less likely to cause a serious reaction or in some cases death.
