Woman Who Survived COVID-19 Shares Her Symptoms & Story

These are the stories that I would like to hear more about and it helped give me a bit of relief. Stay vigilante but also know that this is something that you can get through. Elizabeth Schneider, 37, had coronavirus and treated herself at her home in Seattle, Washington.

One of the main reasons Elizabeth decided to speak out was to give people "hope." Elizabeth said that she started to have body aches and headaches about 3 days after attending a friend's party (5 people from that party actually ended up sick). At first she brushed it off but it got worse so she went home from work. She took a nap and woke up with a 103 degree fever. She didn't go to the ER at first and assumed it was a regular flu because she wasn't feeling COVID-19 symptoms (shortness of breath/coughing). When she went to the hospital they sent her home and told her to rest and drink fluids. They tested her and a few days later is when she found out she had COVID-19. She was sick for about 2 weeks and was told to self -quarantine for a week after that.

According to the NY Post Elizabeth said,, “If you think you have it, you probably do,” said Schneider. “If your symptoms aren’t life-threatening, simply stay at home, medicate with over-the-counter medicines, drink lots of water, get a lot of rest and check out the shows you want to binge-watch.” Take good care of yourself and be considerate of others.

According to the CDC 80% of cases have been mild. The remaining cases that needed hospitalization affected mainly citizens over the age of 60 and those with pre-existing conditions such as diabetes, heart disease or lung disease.
