Elon Musk Says TESLA Will Leave Bay Area 'Immediately' After COVID Closures

Tesla is the last carmaker left in California and it might be preparing to leave the state. In a string of fiery tweets Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk expressed his outrage at not being able to get back to business due to the COVID-19 closures. Musk said that he not only plans to file a lawsuit against Alameda County but also take his business elsewhere.

"Tesla is filing a lawsuit against Alameda County immediately. The unelected & ignorant “Interim Health Officer” of Alameda is acting contrary to the Governor, the President, our Constitutional freedoms & just plain common sense! Elon Musk ✔" he tweeted. Quickly following that up he tweeted, "Frankly, this is the final straw. Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately. If we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all, it will be dependen on how Tesla is treated in the future. Tesla is the last carmaker left in CA."

Elon Musk has been known to fly off the handle on Twitter and has even been fined for his actions on the social media site before. Do you think he actually means business or do you think this is just an empty threat? I am hoping that this is just emotion talking. Tesla's press relations department has not issued a formal statement or response to these tweets.
