Bonnie Pointer, one of the founding members of the legendary Oakland group The Pointer Sisters, died Monday. Bonnie died of cardiac arrest. She was 69. "Our family is devastated, on behalf of my siblings and I and the entire Pointer family, we ask for your prayers at this time," Anita Pointer said in a statement to CNN "Bonnie was my best friend and we talked every day," she continued. "We never had a fight in our life. I already miss her and I will see her again one day."

The Pointer Sisters rose to fame in the 70's with several hits including 'Automatic,' 'Jump,' and 'So Excited.' Bonnie will be remembered for her performances in the group as well as her solo career. 'Heaven Must Have Sent You' is still a classic. Her voice and contribution to music will never be forgotten.
