In 1983 Wide World of Sports produced its last World Record High Dive at Sea World in San Diego. In 1984 Rick Charls successfully completed a dive from 172 feet. If the jump wasn't dangerous enough, he added to the amazing feat by climbing up the tower to do the jump without a harness.
