The United States Army is switching things up in 2021. While men will still be required to shave their heads women will be allowed to let their hair hang down and flow freely. The announcement comes after a push for diversity and will be more inclusive and allow greater flexibility for braids, twists, cornrows, and other styles more natural styles for various ethnic groups. More allowances will also be made for earrings and hair colors. The changes will go into effect in early February.

After an extensive review over the past year or so a panel decided to recommend the new grooming changes. A variety of factors, including cultural, health, and safety issues were all taken into consideration.
