According to reports, Steve Perry, a former member of Journey, has discontinued his legal action against one of the band's corporations for trademarking 20 songs.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued a letter to guitarist Neal Schon, another Journey member, stating that Perry filed a withdrawal on January 4, 2023. Schon tweeted, “Now we can talk as we were,” implying their relationship could be mended due to the legal decision.
He did, however, also use the moment to mention bandmate Jonathan Cain, referring to recent statements the keyboardist made on the two's disagreement over a business credit card. Schon accused Cain's wife of inappropriately accessing band bank accounts and filed a cease-and-desist lawsuit against her.
Less than three weeks remain until Journey's 2023 tour. Original member Gregg Rolie is anticipated to accompany the band on the road.
