Children in the UK were reduced to tears, and the police were called to a Willy Wonka-inspired event after fans paid almost $45 per person for an “immersive experience” and ended up with an almost empty warehouse.
Fans immediately took to social media to call out the company that put the event together.
One X user said, “Apparently this was sold as a live Willy Wonka Experience but they used all AI images on the website to sell tickets, and then people showed up and saw this and it got so bad people called the cops lmao.”
According to the New York Post, “police were called... after parents felt scammed by the ‘absolute shambles of an event’ and gathered to demand refunds.”
Organizers of the event say they will refund the ticket buyers’ money.
